But I stumbled through it, and now as I write this last blog I’m a bit disappointed to see it come to an end. I’ve really enjoyed writing about my racing season and sharing with you guys everything that has transpired during it. The positive feedback and comments that I received from friends and blog readers made me want to make each one better than the last.

The first thing I notice is a sign that says cigarettes there are $3.41. I don’t smoke but I am always on the lookout for the number 341 as it is my race car number. I take this as a good sign. The cashier informs me that the cost of my gummies and Diet Mountain Dew was 3.41 and I knew that today was my day.

The wheel stand contest was my favorite. As a spectator you have nothing to lose. As a competitor you have everything to lose, but for some reason the mix of testosterone and a cheering crowd create an environment where you just want to break your car to win.

Welcome back to another inside view of my racing life. We left off last month with some mixed results and a few stories about the different things that go on around here. This month has certainly been a roller coaster ride with some twists and turns thrown in for good measure. It took some work to get through it, but we are on the right track as we head into the final stretch of the 2012 racing season.

Sure enough I had been tapping time into the box all along. Thankfully I had only used it a couple of times and not during any important rounds. I guess I shouldn’t have made it sleep outside the last two nights. Although I can’t really complain as this winter on the dyno the pump didn’t work and when it was hit with a wrench sparks came out of it and it started working and has worked every since then." - Jeremy McKague

The entire idea of bracket racing was introduced to me by a man named Jerry “Thriller” Virgadamo. I fell in love with the concept right away. He called me up one weekend and said, “I am going to a bracket race, you want to take a ride?”, so of course I tagged along. On the way to meet Thriller, I decided to bring my brand new Honda Accord. It would be my first attempt at driving a car down the track. The Thriller disagreed and said “No, not a good idea to bring your new car Slick. He Said I’ve got a car for you to drive at the track”. That’s exactly what I needed to hear! When I pulled up to the track, he told me to get the winch battery out of the trailer so that we could get the car. I did so and joined him along the other side of the track, next to the woods, where we came upon a 1990 Geo Metro. Yep, you heard it right! I was standing in front of a 1990 Geo Metro, a three cylinder beast that turned 20 seconds @ 65mph in the quarter.
